IIPCC Privacy Policy Statement

International IP Commercialization Council Limited (“IIPCC”, “we” or “us”) pledges to meet fully, and where possible exceed, internationally recognised standards of personal data privacy protection, in complying with the requirements of the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) (“Ordinance”). In doing so, we will ensure compliance by our staff with the strictest standards of security and confidentiality.
Protecting your privacy is important to us. We hope the following statement will help you understand how IIPCC collects, uses and safeguards any personal information collected on our Web sites.
This Privacy Policy Statement is effective as of 1 February 2015 and summarizes what information IIPCC or its Chapters might collect from a registered user or other visitor (“you”), and what IIPCC or its Chapters will and will not do with it.

1. IIPCC will only collect the minimum amount of information necessary to carry out the purposes for which such information is collected. Information we collect about you is information which can be used to ascertain your identity such as your name, address, contact phone numbers or e-mail address (“personal data”). Before we collect personal data, we will inform you of the purpose for which the personal data is collected and if we will share such information with third parties for the purpose of collection. If you do not consent to our collection of your personal data, please do not provide such personal data to us.

We may hold records collected on webservers, such as individual names, email addresses and other contact information, and information provided by individuals to us, to notify such individuals of events, such as seminars, conferences, educational and training programs, and to send out newsletter and notices. In addition, we may share such information with our local chapters, and other organizations that work with IIPCC in organizing, co-organizing, sponsoring, or supporting events, such as seminars, conferences, and educational programs. Records collected on webservers are kept for the purpose of sending information to individuals and organizations they represent. No personal data will be collected if you are only browsing this site.
3. Personal data held by us will be kept confidential. We will not disclose any personal data to a third party, except when such disclosure has been made known to you at the time of collection, is required by law, or is made with your prior consent.

IIPCC may collect other information that cannot be readily used to identify you, such as (for example) the domain name and IP address of your computer or general traffic statistics of persons visiting our sites. 8. From time-to-time, IIPCC or our Chapters may provide you the opportunity to participate in a survey or contest on our web sites. Should you participate, we will request certain personally identifiable information from you such as your contact details. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and we may use this information to monitor site traffic or personalize the site (in the case of anonymous information collected), to help improve our service offering.
